A hush falls in our home. We bustle about, preparing last-minute details for our family gathering today, yet there is a peace. Everyone's voices are softer, kinder. There is happiness in simply being together. There is joy in just hearing each other's names.
The wonderstruck look on my youngest sister's face says it all.
Christ has come. Good Christian men, rejoice, with heart and soul and voice.
Peace, peace: Jesus Christ was born to save.
We treasure these moments, the chafing rawness of loss still vivid in our memories. We treasure these moments, knowing a family we love faces this Christmas with one less smile, one less booming laugh.
And we love. We love, we give, we receive, we hope.
There is a breathtaking beauty in this simplicity of loving.
My brother strolls through the house, guitar constantly serenading us. My father sings a made-up happy song, telling of Christmas Eve and hot chocolate and other Favorite Things.
And there is, in all this commotion, a hush of beauty.
Merry Christmas.

Thank you very much, Ms. Sylvia, for the follow and comment. :)
Your family has a great approach toward Christmas. Many people have forgotten the reason for Christmas.
Merry Christmas.
Honorably and Respectfully,
Paul.
